Our financial planning team is on a mission to rebrand “year-end tax planning” as a key moment for women to step into their financial power.

Why? Because not all financial flexes women make have to be a momentous, viral thing. That’s putting way too much pressure on ourselves. Besides, some of the most effective ways women can improve their financial confidence are gloriously boring.

Take investing. Doing little by little — a bit out of each paycheck — has substantial advantages over trading in and out of the stock market. Yet in the movies, we don’t see folks popping bottles over getting an automated investment notification.

Back to year-end tax planning. Why should this unglamorous routine be considered a financial power move?

Because when women take positive action with their money, like organizing their tax season to-dos before the new year, they feel in charge of their futures (and stress a lot less once it comes time to file).
