It’s Friday so we’re listening to something more upbeat. Today we’re listening to Richard Houghten, an American guitarist and producer based in Los Angeles. Thank you to Dusty Moell for the recommendation. Houghten started playing guitar at age 12 and would use a tape recorder to loop and layer his own guitar recordings.¹ Inspired by producers DJ Shadow and Aphex Twin, in his solo albums he set guitar chords and melodies to drum machines.
