Everyone has their It Girl. The one they look to time and time again for inspiration. For me, that’s always been Tracee Ellis Ross. Like many millennials, my earliest memories of her stem from her role as Joan Clayton on Mara Brock Akil’s iconic show, Girlfriends. As the head of the stylish quartet, her on-screen style never missed. While Tracee’s personal style consistently delivers, I am most in awe of her shoes — especially her collection of statement boots. Admittedly I’ve never been one to shy away from a good boot, but watching her mix and match patterns, textures, and colors like a pro has kept me and my Pinterest board fully stocked with inspiration. These days I take cues from her Instagram, which is a goldmine for ideas, but still look to Joan Clayton's closet from time to time when I need to remix my favorite pairs.
