Every National Poetry Month we present Dear Poet, a multimedia education project that invites young people in grades five through twelve to write letters in response to poems written and read by award-winning poets. Dear Poet 2024 will feature poets Leila ChattiChen ChenMarilyn ChinNicole Cecilia Delgado, Nikky FinneyJohn James, Mara Pastor, Ed Roberson, and Patricia Smith.

The submission period for Dear Poet 2024 will open on January 10, 2024, and close on April 22, 2024. In May, a PDF booklet of select student and poet letters will be published on Poets.org. More information will be provided in the coming months.
