Flow State - dj +1
Flow State is the weekday newsletter providing great music to work to (no vocals). We pick one artist each day, tell you a little about them, and recommend a couple of their albums – including streaming links. Our paid subscribers keep us going – if you’d like to support Flow State and unlock extra features, consider becoming a paid subscriber today: Good morning. It’s Friday so we’re listening to something slightly more upbeat. Today we’re listening to dj +1, a Colombian electronic music producer from Bógota. We discovered him on Pitchfork’s Best Electronic Music of 2023 list from yesterday. As a producer and DJ he’s moved around a bunch – Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador – absorbing local club styles and developing an idiosyncratic, genre-bending mode of his own. His EP Aromáticas from August features propulsive percussion on some tracks and drumless ambiences on others. We’re also playing his 2022 LP, Conflicto e Interés, which goes consistently clubbier. Aromáticas - dj +1 (30m, no vocals) Conflicto e Interés - dj +1 (40m, vocals on track 9) Have a really good weekend. |
