The technology industry will be a key focus for the new consulate of India set to open soon in the Seattle area. The consulate hopes to serve as a resource for tech companies, investors, and workers in both Seattle and India. “We see our role as a bridge,” said Prakash Gupta (above), consulate general of India for the new hub, who spoke to GeekWire after arriving in Seattle. The City of Seattle wants to make better use of its data. Mayor Bruce Harrell recently rolled out a new data strategy and the city last week hosted a hackathon challenging participants to build a dashboard or visualization to illustrate city programs or services. Read more.


Potential bumps in the road for Seattle scooter and bike share:
Bird filed for bankruptcy, but says it will continue normal operations, while Superpedestrian is reportedly ceasing U.S. operations and will remove its LINK scooters from Seattle by the end of the month. Read more.
