If an insider wants to raise, there are many levers they can pull. They can email their network about their raise. They can ask their network for an intro to other investors. Or they can put a “building something new” post on X. This is the power of trust. Insiders don’t need a deck, because trust fills its place. Outsiders are in the opposite position. No one has context on them. No one can backchannel them. No one can trust them. This is why a great deck matters. It seeds trust where no other signs of trust can be found.
