Picking up a piece of chalk at a friend's party led to Dana Tanamachi’s first corporate commission for hand lettering. Her career as an artist and designer has grown to include illustrations, packaging, and branding for dream clients.

In her talk for our Louisville chapter, she describes her muse as the Japanese concept of "gaman." Her passion for turning simple and unexpected materials into beautiful things is inspired by her family’s history — creating amazing art from discarded materials saved her grandparents from bleak conditions during World War II. This moving talk on the power of creativity is a must-watch.
