Dear readers,

Happy Valentine’s Today. You might be wondering what is prompting this very unusual second email of the day.

Well, today… I am writing to remind you about our partnership with the global news organization DailyChatter. We figured Valentine’s Day was as good of a day as any to let you know about our very special relationship.

For the last four years, one of the most frequent questions I get in Tangle is, "do you do Tangle for country X?" or "can you cover more international news?"

Since we are a small team that focuses mostly on U.S. politics, the answer is — unfortunately — no. Tangle only exists for the United States right now, and while we do cover some international issues, we usually do it when there is a peg to U.S. politics.

However, last year, we launched a partnership with the international news service DailyChatter. Once a year, we write a dedicated email to readers asking them to become DailyChatter members (if you are already a member of DailyChatter, you can safely ignore this email).

Like Tangle, DailyChatter is independent, founded by a journalist with an eye toward fairness, and written in a reliably neutral, non-partisan voice. Simply put, it's the best place I know of to get international news, and just like Tangle, it's released every weekday in a newsletter.

In my nearly four years of running Tangle, this is just the second partnership I've ever done like this. I hope that speaks to my trust in DailyChatter, and my confidence that you'll find the kind of news there you come to expect from Tangle.

DailyChatter's business model is a little different than Tangle’s. They run free trials. That means you can read it for free for 2 weeks, but then you'll be asked to subscribe for less than $35 per year. As a testament to how good the product is, consider this: 85% of all their users who start a free trial stay on as paid subscribers.

Today, I'm writing to tell you about our partnership (they’re sending a similar reminder to their readers), and to ask you to go support DailyChatter. You'll see me promoting them every couple weeks in the newsletter, too. Give it a shot, see if you like it, let me know what you think, and open up your news diet beyond the U.S. borders.

Happy reading!

Best,

Isaac & the Tangle team
