If you like this type of thing, tell your friends to subscribe. Brace yourselves: there’s a new rom-com featuring queer women coming out, but it stars Zach Braff. Sapphics flipped out when they learned Orphan Black’s Evelyne Brochu was going to be playing another hot bisexual, but the trailer for the film (called French Girl – stupid name) quickly put a damper on our dreams. Braff and Brochu’s characters are dating and Brochu, who’s a chef, gets a chance to work at some fancy restaurant in her hometown of Québec City. Braff is shocked to learn that her new boss (?), played by Vanessa Hudgens, is her ex. It looks like he’ll have to fight Vanessa for her love, or something, and it’s pretty easy to guess who will get the girl. Writer Layne Morgan posited a theory about why Braff made the movie on X – “Wait so Zach and Florence break up, lots of Florence dating women rumors around, and Zach goes and makes…… biphobia the movie?” Biphobia: The Movie is certainly a better title than French Girl. Evelyne Brochu stans are going to need to hold hands and stand in a prayer circle for this one. On the bright side, a new short film starring Victoria Pedretti and Caitlin Stasey is on the horizon. It’s called Fall Risk and follows Pedretti’s MS diagnosis and the spooky events (presumably involving her girlfriend) that start happening. ...
