Hello there,

Last weekend, we sat with a good friend in Dublin, Ireland, and he said that Do Breakthrough had changed his life.

It stopped Clare and me in our tracks.

As we caught the ferry back home a couple of days later, I kept thinking about what he had said.

Because Breakthrough had changed my life too.

This June, Do Breakthrough is gathering again.

And it got me thinking: who will it help this time.

Spoiler alert: Change is hard.

People say this year will be different, and for most, it is not.

It is frustratingly-annoyingly-painfully the same.

Where you are now and where you want to be is one of the greatest journeys you will ever go on.

But there is an invisible wall between them.

- Most people don’t see it.

- So, they keep hitting it.

- Year after year.

Then, regular as clockwork, they brush themselves off and utter, ‘Next year will be different.’

It is Groundhog Day without the learning.

Hmmm.

The invisible wall.

The power of Do Breakthrough is it makes the wall visible.

So, invisible brick by invisible brick, you take the wall down.

- The stories you tell yourself build the wall.

- So do habits.

- And how you look at the world.

You can only do this kind of work in a safe space.

You need to be sitting next to people who are trying to do the same exact thing. The rawness you feel is also felt by the person next to you. It is this that allows the truth to be shared.

Your truth makes the invisible wall visible.

The circle of truth is how we started the first-ever Do Breakthrough. This is where you talk about where you are now and where you want to be. And, what is stopping you, really?

It was supposed to last an hour. It lasted an entire morning. The truth circle has become the foundation of Do Breakthrough.

This inner work is not easy or pain-free. The struggle that you have been wrestling with is not a new one. It is not going to leave without a fight.

As I said earlier, change is hard. Breakthrough is only possible when the truth is spoken. The rewards from sharing it are so long-lasting that the uncomfortableness of the process soon fades from the memory.

- Sure, you will wish you never came.

- Sure, you will want to leave early.

- But the desire for change within you won’t let you leave.

The importance of a safe space, where truth can be shared, and being surrounded by like-minded people all trying to figure stuff out is also why you choose to stay.

And yet, as you say your goodbyes, it will be hard to leave.

Will this year be different?

The uncomfortable truth is this is not a new struggle. And each year, you vow this year will be different.

And, whack.

You hit the invisible wall.

And the pattern repeats.

Until this happens…

The point in being stuck where you stop trying to un-stuck yourself. That is the low point. But low points serve a purpose.

They act as trigger turning points.

You know, that day when something snaps in you, and you say, ‘Right, enough.’

That is why Do Breakthrough is here.

No. We will provide you with learning, food, outdoorsy-ness and wine (and we’ll organise your transport home each night if you want to have some of that wine) but you’ll need to find your own accommodation. We can send you a list of our favourite places, and of course, you're welcome to camp at the farm.

3. Who is running it?

It will hosted by Gaye, Hilary, Rachel & David.
