I’m incredibly proud of the work our team does in the service of readers across the country − readers like you − as we decipher and explain complex issues. (We’ve had readers write in and say that reading The Conversation allows them to bring up interesting points off the news that lead to more “conversation.”)

If you read our story this week untangling the litigation between Texas and the federal government over immigration, or our look at how U.S. democracy’s unaddressed flaws undermine Biden’s stand as democracy’s defender, or our coverage of the threat of high-tech deception in politics, you’re already better-informed and ready to engage with the world we live in.

Many times, our stories delight and surprise − and then, there’s that story that can make a dent in the world: stories that offer solutions to real-world problems, based on research. 

There’s the sound, solution-based advice we bring you, such as how much stress is too much, written by a psychiatrist who has researched and studied mind-body questions for decades. And there are solutions to large problems, like how 76% of Africa’s energy could come from renewable sources by 2040.

And then, there are the investigations we undertake, bringing together academic experts with investigative reporters, to shine a light on serious issues, such as this recent deep dive into dangerous nursing homes.

These articles aren't knocked out by AI or made as clickbait. Days of effort go into crafting these stories that are often based on years of research and expertise on a topic. It’s all made possible by you.
