WP Weekly 187 - Woo - LMS Migrator, WP CLI Dev, WP Security 2024

This week, there is a lot of Woo stuff, like – wishlist, simple fields and the upcoming Woo onboarding wizard. Also featured in this issue: CLI for WordPress, State of WordPress Security 2024, and WordPress 6.5, delayed by one week.

• Now in Plugins Directory… James Welbes’s RoadMapWP plugin for building user-driven roadmaps, is now available on WordPress org plugins repository for free download. Also, available on the plugins directory is the Core Framework that promises to make CSS and customization easy.
  
  
• CLI for WordPress… promising to be a better alternative to the official WP-CLI documentation, Enrique Chavez has launched WP CLI Dev website to help you master the command-line interface for WordPress through in-depth guides, hands-on tutorials, and practical use-case scenarios.

New Woo Stuff: Wishlist, Integration, Fields

Wishlist for Woo… the team at Qode Interactive has released QODE Wishlist for WooCommerce plugin, allowing users to create multiple private, public, or shared wishlists. It has a free version with handy features, and the pro version allows you to show related products in wishlists and more customizations.

MemberPress & Woo… the team at Member Fix has released MemberPress WooCommerce Integration Plugin that map WooCommerce products with MemberPress memberships. It keeps the purchase data synced between Woo and Membership, and also ends membership when a member is canceled in Woo.

Woo Custom Fields… Marco Almeida has released Simple Custom Fields, promising an easy process of adding custom fields to the new Woo block-based checkout. It allows you to add custom text, select, and checkbox fields.

Woo Onboarding… WooCommerce 8.8v introduces a new Customize Your Store onboarding wizard, a no-code way to customize your WooCommerce store through a new Pattern Assembler feature.

1. Membership Websites… MemberPress has added LMS migration feature allowing easy migration from other LMS to MemberPress, starting this with LearnDash to MemberPress migration functionality. Also, check how you can restrict content access on a membership website made with Beaver Builder through the ARmember plugin integration.
   
   
2. Discord Integration… is now available in Flowmattic supporting various workflows like send new WordPress posts as Discord channel messages or create an AI image playground in Discord with OpenAI, download template for this specific workflow execution.
   
   
3. WordPress Coding Standards… WordPressCS 3.1.0v update is now available, highlighting three new sniffs, many items that are changed, and the fix for WordPress post per page query – corresponding to the WordPress 6.5 release.
   
   
4. WP Milestones… InMotion Hosting has won the Winter 2024 Leader Award in the website hosting space, awarded by SourceForge, a popular software reviews and comparison website. SureCart is now in the top 2k WordPress plugins in terms of usage, out of 60k plugins – with 50% growth this year.
   
   
5. State of WordPress Security… Patchstack has published an open-source security whitepaper on security in the WordPress space. Concluding: Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) accounted for 53.3% of all new security vulnerabilities followed by Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerabilities at 16.9%, and Broken Access Control at 12.9%.
   
   
6. Mailster Security Fix… users of the Mailster plugin should update to version 4.0.8 for issues: Local File Inclusion (LFI) and Cross Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability, as reported by Patchstack.

Starter Sites… the team behind PostX plugin has launched the PostX Starter Sites option, full websites out of the box that can be customized.

Updates: Divi5, SureTriggers, Gravatar

Divi 5… Nick Roach shared a Divi 5 update focusing on front-end speed tuning and progress on other features like Global Colors, Divi Presets, and Layers View.

SureTriggers… is on the roll with 8 new integrations for HighLevel LeadConnector, Gridpane, Anthropic, Gelato, Shipday, Axonaut, Getscreen, and Motion.

Gravatar… has added more features to profiles like the ability to re-arrange links, custom background color, and the option to edit URL for a custom URL slug.
