Before we dive into the companies...

You know about the 4 day work week (32hrs @ 100% pay), but here's some other flexible working models you may not have heard of:

1. Summer Fridays: July and August are quiet... so as an employee benefit, staff get every Summer Friday off!
2. Asynchronous work: staff work whatever schedule they like, as long as they hit 40hrs / week. Typically everything is done over email / Slack and there are no/few meetings.
3. Annualized hours: allows employees to be employed year-round while acknowledging there might be significant peaks and troughs in work.
4. Compressed Workweek: condensing full-time hours into fewer days e.g. 9/80 schedule = 80 hours over 9 days, instead of 10.
5. Phased Retirement: gradually reducing work hours as you approach retirement age.
6. Results-Only Work Environment (ROWE): the company doesn't care about working hours, it only cares about results.

Ultimately, every company should be a "results-only work environment"...

The more productive you are, the fewer hours you need to work.
