The Under 30 Scientists And Founders Revolutionizing Healthcare In Asia

The 2020 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia honorees provide an optimistic view of the future, and members of the Healthcare & Science list are no exception. Starting with more than 3,500 online nominations, our team of researchers and fact-checkers select an initial shortlist of 500 semifinalists, who then get vetted by a lineup of A-list judges and industry experts. The final 300 get selected afterwards taking into consideration criteria such as demonstration of leadership, impact, potential of success and the embodiment of the entrepreneurial spirit synonymous with Forbes. To satisfy skyrocketing demand for wet wipes amid COVID-19, Under 30 alum Mauricio Menache repurposed his wet wipes producing company GoodFibers. Up until now, GoodFibers produced 2 billion baby and cosmetic wipes per year. Menache says they will use the extra capacity in their facility to start producing disinfecting and antibacterial wipes.

The next big thing might come in a small size: Jaclyn Fu and Lia Winograd are the Forbes 30 Under 30 cofounders of Pepper, which makes bras for small-chested women. They started the company in 2017 and with just three products on the market, just completed a round that brings their total funding to $2.4 million.

The world is facing a natural vanilla shortage. Under 30 Alum Dr. Ian Klein claims he can solve that by producing natural vanilla from the abundant corn fiber.
