You can provide poetry education for students!

Dear Friend,

I’m writing to ask for your help this National Poetry Month.

Each and every month the Academy provides 40,000 teachers with freely accessible poetry lesson plans and supporting materials. We reach upwards of 800,000 students monthly across the country thanks to contributions from poetry lovers like you.

But we can only provide these programs with your help.

Poetry education is an incredibly important teaching tool, but it is a skill that teachers often need help building. When students interact with poetry, they learn how to write, read, and understand all types of texts. Poetry education provides students the tools for processing their emotions and helps develop crucial speaking and listening skills.

Your donation today supplies the resources needed to hire expert poetry curriculum developers. Your contribution provides the platforms necessary to connect with teachers from across the country and the tools to disseminate these resources.

With your support, we can provide poetry education for all. Thank you for bringing poetry into the lives of students of all ages.

With hope/con esperanza,

Ricardo Maldonado
President and Executive Director
Academy of American Poets

P.S. This National Poetry Month, we need to raise $100,000 to support the Academy’s educational programs. Join us in championing the next generation of poets and poetry readers!
