5-Bullet Friday — 101 Tips for a Better Life, When Haters Are The Best Marketers, Cause for Celebration, and More
|
|||
Hi All! Here is your weekly dose of 5-Bullet Friday, a list of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward along if the spirit moves you. I threw in a bonus celebratory bullet because… well, life is meant to be enjoyed, right? This edition is brought to you by AG1, my all-in-one nutritional insurance. Be sure to see their offer in the P.S. What I’m reading“101 Additional Advices” by Kevin Kelly. Regular readers know that I consider Kevin one candidate for the real-world most interesting man in the world. He turns 73 in a few days, and I always read his short, bulleted lists of advice. What I’m watching“Keynote by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.” This entire video is worth watching. If you’re short on time, click here to hear one of my favorite moments, punctuated with a very deliberate and uncomfortable pause. Great food for thought. Case study I’m loving“How a Hater Accelerated My Startup’s Timeline By a Year, Overnight” by Niels Hoven. This is a wonderful story of how an online attack backfired and ended up 10xing positive attention to a startup. I love when karma lands in the right place at the right time. Mentava is one of my few investments in the edtech space; another is NoRedInk. To get on the waitlist for Mentava’s software before it opens to the public, just go here: mentava.com. Microphone I’m investigatingRAY. “Autofocus” for your voice! Check out this cool demo on YouTube. If it delivers even 50% of the features, it’ll be one to watch. The description: “RAY is the first microphone with our new sensor-based AURA technology to dynamically adapt your levels and tone according to your distance to the microphone. It’s like autofocus but for your voice. Instead of making perfectly sharp pictures, you’re getting perfectly balanced recordings.” Has anyone used this? If so, what are the pros and cons? Please let me know at @tferriss on Twitter with #RAY. I’m considering sending this to remote podcast guests going forward, as it will save us all tons of fussing with levels, gain, “could you get a little closer to the mic,” etc. What I’m celebratingLive 10th Anniversary Random Show with Kevin Rose! This week is officially the podcast’s 10-year anniversary, and there is no better way to commemorate such a wild milestone than with Kevin Rose, a little tequila, and a huge thank-you to my dear listeners! Kevin was my very first guest for episode one way back in April 2014. Feels like both yesterday and lifetimes ago. Quote I’m pondering“Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia.” You can complement this edition of 5-Bullet Friday with my conversation with Kevin Kelly that features even more excellent advice for living, another hilarious edition of the Random Show, and seven of my own tactics for dealing with haters. P.S. Deal of the Week — AG1!I get asked all the time, “If you could use only one supplement, what would it be?” My answer is usually AG1, my all-in-one nutritional insurance. I recommended it in The 4-Hour Body in 2010 and didn’t get paid to do so. I focus on nutrient-dense meals, of course, but AG1 further covers the nutritional gaps in my diet. With AG1, you get a high-quality multivitamin and multimineral, pre- and probiotics, adaptogens, greens, and more, providing you a cost-efficient way to consolidate your supplement stack into one product for less than $3.00 per day. Rather than taking multiple pills or products to cover your mental clarity, gut health, immune health, energy, etc., you can support these areas through one daily scoop of AG1, which tastes great, even with water. AG1 in single-serve travel packs also makes for the perfect travel companion. |
