The Forty-Five - Let's get mash up, Jamie XX is back

Hello

So, another three weeks indoors, eh. If there are any musicians reading this, have you thought about subsidising your loss of earnings by getting your grandad to walk up and down the garden on his zimmer frame? It seems awfully effective

Here's some music stuff going on this week that we like.
Brand new!
A while back, these guys said hello at a gig and shared some of their unreleased music with us. They're called Lemondaze and they've got some tracks on Spotify now which we like very much. It's shoegaze for 2020. Check out songs 'Neon Ballroom' and 'Twin Paradox'.
Go on then, just a half
Jamie XX is back with his first solo output since he released 'In Colour' AKA one of the greatest records of the last decade. New track, 'Idontknow' is here to set your weekend off right.  Excellent dancing in the video, too.
10 on 10
People who like Fiona Apple really like Fiona Apple. For good reason though, new record 'Fetch The Bolt Cutters' – her first in eight years – is quite astonishingly good. It was just awarded a solid 10 from Pitchfork, the first time the music site has given full marks in an album review since Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, ten years ago.
Glasto blues?
Glastonbury festival are releasing playlists for the stages that would have made up 2020's festival. So far, we have The Park Stage, ft. Baxter Dury, Sampa The Great, Squid and more and on the John Peel, we'd be watching Aitch, Beabadoobee, Clairo and FKA Twigs. It's enough to make you weep. A lot. For the whole weekend.
Game on
A lot of this newsletter was meant to be about gigs. Now, we just have gigs inside video games. This is a bit too modern for us to fully understand but bear with... 100 Gecs just announced a charity show with Charli XCX and Tommy Cash inside of actual Minecraft called Square Garden (geddit?). Soccer Mommy also just performed in Club Penguin land, presumably to an audience of paedos and six year olds? If anyone has frequented these gigs, we want to hear from you. Please reply to this email and explain to grandma here what the hell is going on.
