GOP Hammers Fauci in Hearing

Dr. Anthony Fauci was grilled Monday by a GOP-led congressional committee investigating the government's pandemic response in his first public appearance since he retired 18 months ago.

Republican committee members questioned Fauci about the origin of Covid-19, accusing him of blocking investigations into the theory that the virus leaked from a Chinese lab.

Democrats on the committee defended Fauci’s actions, calling him a hero.

“Fauci, you belong in jail!” a heckler shouted during the hearing before he was escorted out. You can read highlights of the hearing here.

Russia Warns of 'Fatal Consequences'

The Kremlin warned the United States Monday that it could face "fatal consequences" if it allows Ukraine to use U.S.-supplied weapons against targets inside Russia.

The warning comes after the White House authorized Ukraine to use U.S.-supplied weapons to defend the city of Kharkiv, near the Russian border.

A Russian official emphasized that Putin's warning shouldn’t be taken lightly. “They underestimate the seriousness of the rebuff they may receive.”

Dr. Pepper Ties Pepsi for No. 2

Dr. Pepper is now tied with Pepsi-Cola as the number two carbonated soft drink brand in America behind Coke, according to sales data from Beverage Digest.

Consumer surveys showed that Gen Z and Hispanic customers have responded to the 139-year-old soda brand’s introduction of new and unusual flavors like strawberries and cream.

In 2004, Dr. Pepper was tied with Sprite in sixth place. The brand says that a consistent marketing plan focusing on younger consumers, including college students, has propelled Dr. Pepper into second place.

The beverage also gained national attention through viral social media videos of people making a Dirty Dr Pepper, a mix of the soda and coffee creamer.
