What is the IaC tool you use most?

I’ve probably worked with HashiCorp Terraform the most out of other IaC tools the last few years. Azure Bicep is probably the tool that comes in second for me. I’m really interested if this matches what you’re doing, or if there’s a different tool you use most.

What Infrastructure as Code tool do you use the most?

HashiCorp Terraform

Azure Bicep

Pulumi

Ansible

AWS CloudFormation

I don’t use IaC

Thank you! I plan on using this to help better serve you. :)

Terraform provides functions to manage and manipulate IP addresses and CIDR blocks. These functions are crucial for network automation and orchestration in cloud environments, enabling users to create, manage, and allocate network resources efficiently. This article shows how to use the Terraform IP functions, along with some practical examples to help you get the most out of these powerful functions.

The Terraform lookup() function provides a powerful feature that can be used to implement more flexible and easily configurable infrastructure configurations. The lookup() function is essential for retrieving values from maps dynamically. This article explains Terraform maps, in case you’re not familiar yet, and the explores the Terraform lookup() function with usage examples and a few usage best practices.

The functions built into and supported by HashiCorp Terraform include the yamldecode and yamlencode functions for working with YAML data. These functions enable seamless integration and manipulation of YAML within Terraform configurations, enhancing the flexibility and manageability of infrastructure setups. This article explains their usage, and provides some practical applications.

While HashiCorp Terraform is a single executable, it’s really useful to install it on the local machine so the terraform.exe executable can be run from anywhere. To do this, Terraform needs to be downloaded, placed somewhere on the local machine, and then that path must be added to the system PATH environment variable. I’ve done this before, but haven’t shared the script out, so I though I would do so.

This article defines what a vector search engine is, why you might use one, and how to integrate a lightweight, in-memory vector search engine (aka vector database) in a .NET application using the Build5Nines.SharpVector library in your .NET applications for vector similarity search.

The Internet of Things (IoT) continues to surround us in all kinds of devices. While many of the concepts of building IoT solutions apply to both consumer and industrial IoT solutions, this article focuses on the enterprise / industrial side of managing IoT solutions as an Azure IoT Administrator. If you want to learn more about managing IoT solutions, this article is worth a read.
