Forbes - Don't Drink Disinfectants

It’s been a rough 24 hours for President Trump. Yesterday evening at the White House evening press briefing, the president suggested that a way to treat coronavirus could include drinking or injecting disinfectants like Lysol. The public’s pushback was so swift and loud that the maker of Lysol put out a statement warning about drinking or injecting disinfectant, saying that “under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body.” When President Trump was pressed about the comment today, he said that he was being sarcastic, but then double-downed on the idea. In other news, the FDA warned Americans not to take chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus, two of the drugs that President Trump has been enthusiastic about.
