Software Updates

Latest Tesla software update 2024.26
The 2024.26 software update rolls out with exciting new features for Tesla models, including YouTube Music and Amazon Music streaming capabilities, which require either Premium Connectivity or WiFi. Enhancements such as comprehensive parental controls, weather forecast, air quality index on the status bar, and schedule charge and preconditioning options via the Tesla app or touchscreen further refine the user experience. The update also introduces a refined climate control panel and full-screen Zoom meetings support in Park mode.

Non-employee testers review FSD v12.4.2 📹
Tesla has started the release of Full Self-Driving (FSD) v12.4.2 to external beta testers, initiating cautious deployment following internal testing. Early non-employee feedback is positive, reporting fewer interventions and nearly non-existent phantom braking, with a standout performance on dirt roads and narrow canyons. However, some subtle issues like decreased driving smoothness and a particular left turn problem were noted, indicating ongoing refinement of the system.

Tesla Semi spotted with LIDAR suite near Gigafactory Nevada 📷
Exciting sighting near Gigafactory Nevada: a Tesla Semi equipped with a LIDAR sensor suite instead of the usual rooftop fairing! This suggests that Tesla is actively gathering training data to release some autonomous capabilities to the Semi.

Cybertruck tactical gray interior and delivery delays 📷
Tesla announced the launch of the Tactical Gray interior option for the Cybertruck, which has seen limited releases to customers, while also delaying the Non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks. High demand has pushed the Foundation Series deliveries into late 2024. Additionally, Tesla is offering free upgrades to default wheels and suggesting a switch to white interiors to expedite delivery for those affected by the Tactical Gray and Core wheels delays.

HDMI input for Tesla Model 3/Y
Tesla Model 3 and Model Y owners now have the option to display any HDMI device on the vehicle's infotainment screen, thanks to a new product launch. This device offers various display modes including full screen and picture-in-picture, integrates with the car's CAN bus for seamless functionality, and plans for future firmware enhancements. The price point of this product is quite high, but we wanted to include it because we haven't seen others like it. You can snag a 10% discount with the code REDDIT.

2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range review: A top-tier EV ðŸ“¹
The 2024 Model 3 Long Range received high praise for setting a new standard in EV performance and comfort. This YouTuber highlights sleeker exterior styling with improved aerodynamics, a more luxurious interior with better assembly quality, and increased comfort from softer suspension and noise-reducing tires. Although the removal of front fog lights and parking sensors were cited as cost-cutting measures, the vehicle's innovative features and efficiency more than compensate for these changes.

🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • EV: Electric Vehicle
  • FSD: Full Self-Driving
