About FOSSA 🛠

FOSSA has widely used solutions for open source vulnerability management, open source license compliance management, and the SBOM (software bill of materials) lifecycle. FOSSA has also developed one of the most popular dependency analysis CLIs on GitHub with over 1.75M downloads, over 61M commits analyzed, and over 91M OSS scans. So they’re deeply rooted in open source and have built for developers since inception. FOSSA now has thousands of customers including Confluent, HashiCorp, Cloudera, and many more.

What this means for the community 💙

StackShare is here to stay! FOSSA will continue to own and operate the community site that you and over 1.5M other developers have grown to love and use. Not only will FOSSA be keeping the StackShare flag held high, FOSSA will be making improvements to the site to enable more developers to have deeper discussions around tools and to have better data around licenses and vulnerabilities.

What this means for customers 🔒

While StackShare isn't going anywhere, StackShare Enterprise is shutting down. This means that we are no longer offering new free or paid subscriptions of StackShare Enterprise. While we are shutting down StackShare Enterprise, over the next few quarters, we will be working to bring accessible and actionable developer tools data to the FOSSA platform.

You can check out FOSSA's announcement about the acquisition here and you can explore FOSSA's offerings here.

A huge thank you to every single developer who contributed to StackShare over the years. We truly appreciate every vote on Pros & Cons, every stack shared, every follow, and every Stack Decision written. Stay tuned for more new features, updates, and an improved StackShare experience!
