Val Geisler - not about email

I'm interrupting these regularly scheduled emails about email (meta) for an important announcement:

Making friends as an adult is exhausting sometimes.

You're no longer BFFs with someone because they sat behind you in home room or because you both took piano lessons from the same woman every Tuesday. I look at my daughter and see her building those fast friends just because another kid likes having tea parties and rolling down hills at the park and, I gotta tell ya, I'm jealous.

It used to be so easy.

But now we're adults (apparently) and making friends just isn't that easy.

Or maybe it is for you. Maybe you're the Don Draper of your social circles and you can win over any room, male or female, and have insta-friends before you say a single word.

But let's assume you're not. Or you know someone who isn't.

The fact of the matter is, here we are working away on the Internet building businesses and teams and empires and at the "end of the day" (whatever that means) connecting on a personal level with another human often gets dropped to the bottom of the ol' to do list.

Let's all just retreat to our bathtubs with a book or podcast, shall we?

Actually, no.

If you've decided that enough is enough and you're really ready to own that social life, here are a few ideas on how to get there.

Pro tip: building personal relationships is the fastest way to build your business too. When people know you well, they know what you do, how you help people, and how they can tell others about you/your product.

Honestly, I make lists like this one for myself but I hope it helps you too.
