Heart vs Mind

I just did what I was called to do, I turned inwards and listened to what my heart wants, ignoring what my brain tells me for once.

For those of you who thinks that this is too new-age, you can ignore the following.

Listening to the head often means that you would be rational with your decisions because we are still using the mindsets of our ancestors, fighting for survival. If you have watched Inside Out 2, you would know that Anxiety is an emotion that can get out of our control.

We often choose the path our head tells us to follow because it seems to lead to the most security and seems to alleviate or even get rid of anxiety. But not everyone is born to follow the same path.

When you listen to your heart, it is usually something that you end up enjoying to do. It is something that you can tirelessly work on or something that you can push through despite of resistance.

The gut tells you to do things that are completely out of the blue. It can be learning a new language or starting a new project without prior experience. You don’t know what would happen but it is similar to when you listen to your heart.
