Hi there,

As a kid, I collected beer mats – loved the design and type.

I collected football cards – loved football.

I even became a trainspotter long before TikTok made it cool – loved trains.

I guess I have always been a bit nerdy.

These days, I collect words – love words, words are cool.

When someone says something, I just note it down. If I read something, I just write it down.

It’s geeky, but it inspires me to write better.

I try to figure out why they got my attention.

Here are some recent finds:

Action is an ancestor of thought.

The second mouse gets the cheese.

Grrr.
Awks.
Obvs.
Yawn.

(Ah, the things your kids say.)

The centre of the hurricane is peaceful.

Change your factory settings.

You are the sum of your quirks, and you are quirk-free.

Drama + Time = Comedy.

The greatest change their sport.

Stupid fast.

Happiness is your haves divided by your wants.

He has hidden shallows.

The reverse 10X.

The rope drop moment.

The truth always has another truth that lies right behind it.

A union of opposites.

The future of the English-speaking language is India.

Short-term dumb. Long-term smart.

Here’s to words.
