Don’t Cry Me A River

Two state governments and several tribal governments collaborated to successfully take down the last of four dams on the Klamath River in southern Oregon and northern California. This is the largest dam removal in United States history, costing an estimated $450 to 500 million. The dams were operated by PacifiCorp, part of Berkshire Hathaway, which currently faces $46 billion in claims for its involvement in the 2020 Labor Day fires, where 11 people died after the utility did not cut power during a windstorm, causing the fires.
