Starter Story - do this ONE thing

Yesterday, I told you about my ~~first~~ second love – data.

(btw my girlfriend saw yesterday’s email, made me sleep on the couch, and now have severe neck pain 😩)

But... f*ck it. Today I want to tell you about my other side chick:

Her name... is Goals.

It's not the prettiest name, but her personality makes up for it.

When I first started my business, I had a lot of goals.

I was going to try cold email.

I was gonna start a blog.

I was gonna post on Instagram.

I was gonna build a paid plan.

I was gonna SEO.

the list goes on...

And... I was gonna do it all in 2 weeks.

(man, i was such a n00b)

You know what I wish someone would have told me?

Choose ONE goal at a time.

Not 2.
Not 5.
Not 10.

Just ONE.

It took me a long time to figure this out, but when I did... everything changed.

Instead of 10 goals, I switched to one.

My goal? Get 1,000 people to visit my website.

That's it.

I was tempted to do a million other things.

But I forced myself to focus.

Why?

Because I knew if I could get those 1,000 visitors, I’d have real data to figure out what worked and what didn’t.

And guess what... it worked!

So each month after that, I set a new goal.

And it kept working!

And every month I blogged my results.

Little by little, things started to click.

I did this every month, like clockwork.

And sure enough, after like 3 months, I had built the beginnings of Starter Story - a business that would change my life forever.

But... this only worked because I set the right goals.
