The Recommendation

Is it a stroller? A wagon? A clown car?

Wherever editor Signe Brewster’s family goes, their stroller wagon draws hecklers and admirers alike. People yell at them from their porches, stop them at festivals, or rush across the park to ask questions. “We get it,” she writes. “It’s big, aggressively tactical, and unlike any other stroller on the street.”

But after pushing and pulling it over the past nine months? It’s easily become her family’s favorite way to get around town, thanks in large part to the way this wagon “calls for interaction with the world.” Its low walls make it feel more open to its surroundings than other models—so at the zoo or along a forest trail, it invites everyone to get out and explore for a while.

As Signe puts it: “That’s the spirit of a wagon: a casual ride that’s easy to hop in and out of, so you can get out into the world with the people who matter most.”

One last thing (for schlepping): The very best tote bags

A good tote bag should be easy to pack and unpack, useful no matter where you’re headed, and attractive and versatile enough to bring to dinner or the office. One day your trusty tote bag might transport your laptop and a couple of books, and the next it needs to hold three bunches of celery and a loaf from the grocery store. Which ones are up for the job?
