Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Ohio Senator J.D. Vance will debate next Tuesday, October 1, at 9 PM Eastern on CBS News. It is the only Vice Presidential debate and is shaping up to be one of the last critical events of the presidential campaign.

Your traditional options for watching the debate are not great:

1. Rely on mainstream media sources, which often breeze over substantive issues and treat the campaign like a sporting event. 

2. Wade into social media and be subject to a torrent of misinformation, bigotry, and general nastiness.
