How Does Visual Capitalist Work With Clients? 💪

Jeff DesjardinsFor 13 years, Visual Capitalist has helped you discover the crucial data behind the megatrends driving the world forward.

But I often get asked, how does Visual Capitalist work as a business? And how can organizations partner with us to leverage our data storytelling capabilities?

- Jeff Desjardins, Editor-in-Chief

🧠 Our Core Belief

First, I’ll start with this: why does Visual Capitalist exist in the first place?

Our core belief is that the information landscape is messy and complicated, and that people are bombarded with so much information that it impacts their decision making capabilities. This has been often described as information overload, or even analysis paralysis.

Since most people are visual learners, one way to “cut through the clutter” is to use powerful, eye-catching visuals that get to the heart of the data and story.

It’s what we practice every day—we help people isolate the signal from the noise, and we do it in a trustworthy way that catches and keeps their attention.

Data Storytelling in Organizations

Over the last decade of talking to many executives and managers, the impression I get is that organizations have similar struggles:

  • “We have a wealth of data, but we don’t know how to turn it into a compelling story.”
  • “Our leadership team doesn’t have time to sift through the mountains of reporting from various business units.”
  • “We’ve spent lots of money on research and thought leadership, but the response has been underwhelming.”
  • “No one has attention spans like they used to.”

Making matters worse, the business landscape has changed drastically in the last decade, and will continue to exacerbate these challenges.

Did you know that more data will be created in the next three years than in all of human history before it?

This is why it’s our mission to make data more discoverable!

How Visual Capitalist Works With Clients

Over the last 13 years, we’ve worked with everyone from leading Wall Street investment banks to large international organizations like the World Bank or the United Nations.

And of course, we’ve worked with many smaller, innovative groups in between.

Here are some of the ways we partner with these clients:

1. Making Your Data More Discoverable

Every day, the audience you want to reach is being bombarded with new inputs and information from every possible angle.

Our team is world-class at distilling your data and story down into key visual representations that capture and hold people’s attention, ultimately making your data discoverable in this sea of noise.

We do this at a macro and micro level.

At the macro level, we can build out an entire thought leadership strategy from scratch, done in a visual style that includes reports, white papers, and many eye-catching visualizations. We can also tap into the influential Visual Capitalist audience if you want to enhance the reach, virality, and uptake of your material.

At the micro level, whether it’s for internal or external communications purposes, we can take your data and apply our knowledge, experience, and best practices to help it make an impact. We have a turnkey way to take work you’ve already done and visualize it in the Visual Capitalist style. We can also help you shape executive briefings or internal data to be more impactful.

2. Leveraging Our Brand

This one’s simpler.

Every month we have 12 million people, including many investors, professionals, and decision makers, that visit our website. We have another 385,000 subscribers on our daily email list.

Sure, there are many places you can get eyeballs for your brand. But what’s unique about our audience is that they are all data fanatics.

If you care about reaching decision makers or investors, it makes sense to align yourself with world-class data storytelling that is trustworthy, non-partisan, and transparent.

It’s a powerful association that can make an impact.

3. Teach a Person to Fish

We want to teach the world how to make their own data and insights more discoverable.

We want to reveal our secret sauce, and how we think about things.

Currently we do this in a few ways, including through consulting work, education and workshop sessions, and speaking events.

If your organization wants to learn more about the Visual Capitalist way, or if it wants high-level access to our most senior people to strategize and partner with your team on an ongoing basis, this is a great way to tap into our resources and expertise.

✊ Data for the People

If you’re sitting on data that’s not making the desired impact—or if you simply want to align yourself with the most data-driven brand on the planet—we’d love to hear from you.
