We Ain't No Fools

Everyone is doing the AI now in hopes of attracting more clients or customers. But turns out, consumers are not gullible fools after all. Research suggests AI has little impact on consumer interest.

According to a YouGov poll across 17 international markets, 41% of consumers say AI integration doesn’t influence their decision to buy a product. However, 21% would be more likely to purchase AI-powered products, while an equal 21% would be less likely to do so (graph below).

Demographic data shows that men are generally more open to AI-integrated products (25%) compared to women (17%). On the flip side, 24% of women are less inclined to buy AI-based offerings versus 19% of men.

Looking globally, 52% of urban Indians are more likely to buy AI-driven products, followed by consumers in the UAE (48%) and Hong Kong (44%). In contrast, only 5% of Americans and 9% of Brits share the same enthusiasm. Interestingly, Singapore leads in neutral responses, with 55% saying AI makes no difference in their buying decisions.
