Our HR department sent out a reminder that we could only roll over 240 hours of unused annual leave. I looked at my current numbers, did some quick math, and promptly asked my boss if I could sneak in two more days off before the end of the year. Maybe I’ll use my unexpected free Fridays to tackle a few things on this list.

• I know I read Why the Past 10 Years of American Life Have Been Uniquely Stupid when it first came out in 2022, but The Atlantic keeps recommending it and I have a feeling it would hit different this time. [gift link]

• Sleep Donation has been on my TBR list for years. Maybe 2025 is finally the year I get around to reading this little novella.

• Our kiddo really only wears dresses. I mostly wear dresses. I think we both would like to read the picture book A Dress with Pockets.

• This seems like the perfect playlist to stream while I’m tackling holiday things.

• A friend recommended the Gone Medieval podcast as a great listen about history.

• I know the reviews haven’t been great, but I really want to see Gladiator II.

• In our family, we like to fill the Christmas stockings with practical use items. But, I’m getting bored with what I’ve been doing for years. I’m going to stroll through Target and CVS to see if I can come up with some new options.

• Our kiddo has outgrown some of the “baby” kitchen supplies we still have. We keep them in a wooden box on one of our kitchen cart shelves. I’m going to donate all those items and turn the box into an accessible “grab and go” art supply station.

• The inbox in my office is overflowing - mostly with ALA book catalogs. I’m putting a day on my calendar to get through all of it before the end of the year.
