We host an annual holiday brunch party. To spread out the preparation chaos, I like to bake (and freeze) items ahead of time. Today, I made banana blueberry muffins. I have yet to eat said muffins. They are sitting on a cooling rack taunting me with their deliciousness.

Admittedly, I will probably steal one of breakfast tomorrow before I pack up the rest to serve at our shindig this weekend.

• In one of the (many!) email newsletters I get, someone recommended “The Pirate Preservationists” as a great read. Since this aligns with my interests in digital preservation, it went right in my “To Read” folder.

• I can’t decide if I want to get Visually Speaking: Mastering Photography as a Visual Language as a book to read for myself or as a gift for my brother.

• When our remodeled library opened, we deliberately included a family-friendly study room to give our students with caregiving responsibilities a space. It’s been a hit. Then, as I was perusing an ALA book catalog, I come across Supporting Student Parents in the Academic Library: Designing Spaces, Policies, and Services. I’m going to get my hands on that to see how we can help even more.

• I love Career Contessa as a website. It’s high time I add their podcast to my life.

• Historical movies are always a win in my book. Historical movies that feature an overlooked story about a groundbreaking, real life figure…. with Glen Powell in a supporting roll? Yeah, Devotion is going on my watch list.

• Is it too early to put the adaption of Fourth Wing on my list? Cause, it’s on there.

• We’re looking for something to do with our families over the holidays. In the past, we’ve visited the US Botanic Garden to see the train. It’s been a few years, so I think we’re due for another visit.

• It’s been years (actually, well over a decade) since I went ice skating on the rink at the Sculpture Garden. Our kiddo loves skating. I’m putting this on our winter activity list.

• The two main water bottles in my life are plastic and very, very old. It’s time for an upgrade. I think I’ll see if I can track down some metal or glass ones at our local Target.
