Poem-a-Day - We need poetry more than ever

As 2024 comes to a close and I reflect on the coming new year, I am reminded through Poem-a-Day that the impact of language is palpable.

Here at the Academy, we bring impact through the language of poetry every day: providing a platform for poets to publish new work through such programs as Poem-a-Day and the First Book Award, bringing poetry to communities through support of Poet Laureate Fellows, and helping teachers bring poetry to students with dynamic lesson plans. 

But we need your support to provide these programs in 2025.
 

With your help, we can seed opportunities for sharing new poems and essays by emerging and established poets. We can grow poetry audiences nationwide and cultivate a community of readers that believes in poetry’s power to invite us to examine ourselves more deeply and acknowledge our responsibilities to one another.
