In 2024, the Academy of American Poets brought poetry education to students in all fifty states through our Teach this Poem and and Dear Poet programs, thanks to the generosity of supporters like you.

But we need your help to continue sharing vital poetry educational resources in 2025.

Your gift today will enable access to weekly poetry lesson plans featuring the works of contemporary poets for forty thousand teachers and librarians serving grades K-12.

Your generosity will support the multimedia initiative Dear Poet, a program that invites students from grades five through twelve to write letters in response to poems written and read by today’s award-winning poets, initiating a meaningful connection between young people and writers.

We know that with a new era on the horizon, we must embrace a shared commitment to the transformative power of poetry, reaching students across the nation, especially those in communities where access to arts education is limited. But we can’t do it without you.
