How David Lieb Turned a Failing Startup Into Google Photos

In 2008, he co-founded Bump, an app used by 150M people to share photos and contact info by bumping their phones together. Though he couldn’t find a way to turn it into a sustainable business, he didn’t quit. After multiple pivots, Bump was acquired by Google in 2013. A photo-sharing app they were building became the foundation for Google Photos — a product he led from inception to over 1 billion users.
