Have you ever wanted a PR professional to look at your business and tell you *exactly* what to fix?

What about your photography? Your website?

Do you have a press pitch that’s just not hitting right?

You’re in luck!

We’re doing just that in a PR Masterclass for creative businesses looking to get more press, sales, and opportunities in 2025. We’re calling it the Content that Coverts Masterclass.

This is the first 90-minute session in our 2025 live PR Masterclass Series.

Before diving into the details, we wanted to give you a few tips using real world examples. Use these as inspiration and references to improve your own business!

Check out how businesses, like yours, drastically improved their the very first section on their homepage after following our advice!

Before…

…After

Tip 1 - Photography, photography, photography.
In the “before” image, the flowers are one of the most prominent elements, but this brand doesn’t sell flowers or vases! To make a stellar first impression for customers and editors alike, nothing is more important than professional photography. The “after” image is thoughtfully composed to actually show the products and overall quality of the image is higher, instilling trust in customers and media alike.

Tip 2 - Make your logo intentional.

A logo is a key touchpoint that communicates how seriously a business is taken. The previous logo—a simple web font paired with a generic graphic—may have made it harder to inspire confidence in editors or customers. The updated logo is fresher, cleaner, and thoughtfully designed. By creating a more intentional design, it builds trust in the brand. It looks like a grown up business.

Before…

…After

Tip 1 - Your photography must show what you sell.
When you take images for the banner section on your website, the photo should be composed to fit in that spot, usually a long, thing landscape photo. This business sells a deck of cards, but notice how in the “before” image you almost don’t see the cards. The second image features the product only. An editor who wants to feature the deck, or someone who may want to buy it immediately understands exactly what it is.

Tip 2 - Focus on one CTA in your banner

The internet is distracting and it’s easy for people to get decision fatigue. In the “before” example someone has to decide if they want to “learn more” or “order now.” Make this decision easy by reducing options to the single action you want someone to take.

Before…

…After

Tip 1 - Show what your product looks like in a space (or on a body)
This is especially important if you sell things like home goods, bedding, lighting, or furniture. Rather than just showing the pattern for this bedding, the “after” image shows a real bed in a thoughtfully styled room. If I’m a customer, this helps me imagine how this could look in my home. The same thing applies to businesses that make jewelry or apparel.

Tip 2 - Tell us what makes your business different.

The copy under the banner in the “after” image—what we like to call and elevator pitch—is a great example of how to use specificity to describe what your business does and how it’s different than the competition.

Three HUGE improvements, right?

We know it can be hard to look at your own stuff and know what will actually move the needle. Sometimes you’re just too “in it” in your business. It can feel impossible to have that critical eye.

Well, that’s what we’re here for! We’ll tell you *exactly* how to improve your assets and what to adjust on your website (with examples!).

This means you’ll know you’re putting your best foot forward when pitching magazines, growing your client base, and looking for new opportunities.

Join our live Content that Converts Masterclass for all the actionable tips, PR strategy, and no-fluff next steps to grow your business this year.

This quarter, we’ve chosen to contribute to recovery efforts in Los Angeles, supporting communities as they recover and rebuild after the devastating wildfires. There are dozens of good places to donate, among them we’ve selected the California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund. You can learn more about them here.
