Seven straight wins, this one against a good opponent (albeit missing two of their three best players). Here’s a new Holy S—t, Pistons! stat: Detroit has now won more games this season (32) than they did in the past two seasons combined (31).

Heat 86, Hawks 98 — Miami slips to 1-6 since the trade deadline. There’s no chance the Heat miss the play-in — the Sixers appear ready to give up the ghost, the Nets are No. 11 but have no institutional rationale for trying to make it — but the top six is becoming more and more unlikely with every loss. The Hawks are in a similar position: it’s a fight for Nos. 7 and 8 at this point, unless the Pistons crater.

Timberwolves 131, Thunder 128 — OKC, having just beaten the Wolves the night before, led by 25 in the third, by 24 in the fourth and by 16 with 3:55 remaining. Anthony Edwards exited the game. It became clear that not only were the Thunder simply a much better regular season team than the Wolves this season, but that the Wolves specifically had a Thunder problem.
