Facebook just might be the best traffic source for blogs these days.

I’ve seen multiple cases of people earning $10,000-$100,000+ per month from Facebook traffic alone. And unlike with Google, it doesn’t take years to build up to this point.

Also, sites built for social traffic are a lot more fun to build, since you can write about whatever interests you (and likely your readers) the most.

I figured it was time to jump on the bandwagon and start doing it myself.

I plan to share the occasional update along the way.

My Facebook-focused niche site

The first step was niche selection.

I wanted to choose a niche that has viral potential (broad appeal, with a passionate audience), the potential for breaking news (you can get TONS of traffic from news!), and that has a primarily US-based audience (good for ad revenue).

I also wanted to choose something I am personally interested in.

Lots of niches fit the bill, but I decided to go with “cars” (not the movie lol).

I set up a simple WordPress site (using the Kadence theme), and published a few articles that have viral potential.

I’m not targeting specific keywords. I’m just writing about interesting things. Think about the videos that go viral on YouTube in your niche. Usually, they’re not targeting a specific keyword to rank in Google. They’re just super interesting. Same principle with my Facebook-first site.

Two of my articles are actually about viral YouTube videos.

The other is a listicle I created with Niche Toolbox. I had it generate some article ideas related to “cars”, and it came up with some really intriguing suggestions.

I then had it generate an article for one of the topics it came up with. It was very well done, pretty much ready to publish out-of-the-box. I only changed a few minor things to better fit my style.

My Facebook page strategy

The plan is to create multiple Facebook pages for my new site. Each page will be a different sub-niche of cars, since “cars” is just way too broad.

Most people interested in cars are actually interested in a specific type or time period. Like vintage cars, super cars, electric cars, or even specific models like Fords, Ferraris, or Rivians.

By niching down my pages, my audience will be far more engaged, as each post is more likely to be relevant and interesting to them. This should also result in a lower cost per like when I run my page like campaigns.

My next step is to create the pages and start running page like ads. I tried setting this up yesterday, but found out my personal account is restricted. No clue why. I haven’t used Facebook in ages! I won’t be able to create ads until the restriction is lifted.

Assuming that gets resolved soon, I’ll give an update once the results start coming in for my ads.

In the meantime, I guess I’ll crank out lots more content for the site so I have plenty to share on Facebook.

To grow my pages, I’ll follow the strategy I talked about in this email.

Hopefully I can hit 1,000,000 page likes with just $1,000 in ad spend! 😎
