Texas A&M Men's Basketball Coach Buzz Williams has a rare gift for seeing people—not just for what they do, but for who they are. His leadership is meticulous, thoughtful, and deeply human.

But he is more than the coach of one of the most marquee college athletic brands in the country. He was also wearing a gray "Rally for Rhyan" 10th-anniversary T-shirt, honoring the movement named after the daughter of Missouri’s Senior Associate Athletics Director Brad Loos, supporting her ongoing fight against pediatric cancer.

Coach Williams took a moment to reflect on his journey, offering timeless advice to the journalism students in attendance—words not just for them, but for anyone on a path of leadership, growth, and transformation. Coach Williams’ four pieces of advice he wishes someone had told him:
