Bitcoin ETFs 🍳

State Street & Citi Bank are launching crypto custody services, while Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala bought ~$436M in Bitcoin ETFs. Wisconsin increased its Bitcoin ETF holdings to ~$321M (+109%), while Barclays disclosed ~$131M. MetaPlanet raised $25.9M for Bitcoin purchases and will join the MSCI Japan World Index in February.

Midnight Society Shuts Down – Another shooter to the bin? 👀

Another web3 gaming studio is out. Midnight Society, the team behind DEADROP, has shut down after three years, leaving the game’s future uncertain.

So, what happened? First, money ran out. They raised $11M, but for a AAA shooter, that wasn’t nearly enough. Attempts at NFT sales, a community buyout, and even an acquisition didn’t pan out. Then, Dr. Disrespect was dropped. The studio cut ties after past allegations resurfaced in 2024. He denied any wrongdoing, but DEADROP lost its biggest marketing asset.

Finally, the competition was tough. Extraction shooters are booming, and other web3 FPS games are struggling too. Midnight Society just couldn’t keep up.

Now, DEADROP sits 85% finished, but investors own what’s left. A buyout isn’t looking likely but there’s always a comeback story possible.

ChronoForge on Switch? Now That’s interesting…🤔

Minted Loot Studios is now an official Nintendo Switch publisher, which could bring ChronoForge to a much bigger audience. It’s a notable step for a web3 game, but there aren’t many details yet.

Will the Switch version have blockchain features? Will it stay web2-only? No clear answers for now, but more games are taking the approach of keeping web3 optional or running it in the background.

ChronoForge is a hack-and-slash roguelite with MMO elements—12 classes, dungeon crawling, and player-run fortresses. Decisions matter, and too many time-warping forges could wipe the world. Free to play, though the airdrop campaign requires a battle pass.

After migrating to Abstract Chain and introducing $CHRONO, this Nintendo approval adds another layer to its future.

TON Battleground Season 1 Drops—$1M Up for Grabs
