For years, Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) has seen discontinuity among users, but it now appears to be experiencing a boom—especially among younger generations.

Fintech companies have fueled this innovation—after all, they were the only entities truly capable of spreading this model. This is completely fine, as businesses need to follow customers' preferences. Advocates argue that it empowers people. But when a financial trend becomes so popular, the number of regulators scrutinizing it also increases. Concerns revolve around one question: Are customers responsible enough?

In reality, they might not be fully considering the risks—especially the hidden ones, which pose a risk to entire economies.
