Forbes - Surviving Two Pandemics

Two foreign countries made Covid-19 news today-- for very different reasons. After a streak of more than 100 days, New Zealand reported its first new case of community-acquired Covid-19. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced this morning that the country would immediately go back into lockdown, including a stay-at-home order for Auckland, the city where the cases were reported. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that his country had approved the world’s first Covid-19 vaccine after less than two months of human testing. Some experts are skeptical that the vaccine is actually effective, but the news was enough to rally investors -- just not enough to turn the stock market positive.
