But more importantly, since it secures the connection between your visitor and the server, it can instill a sense of trust. And that'll make them more likely to stick around. Start by purchasing an SSL certificate. You can get one for free at Let’s Encrypt, but purchasing it through your web hosting company may simplify the installation process. Next, have the hosting company install the certificate on your account. Before going live, make sure that all internal links are updated to HTTPS, since having a mix is confusing for users and hurts your SEO. And set up a 301 redirect through your CMS (or manually) to notify search engines that your site needs to be indexed again.
