There are a few ways I cure writer’s block: coffee, an everything bagel with cream cheese and lox, and a throwback dance party. Whether you too are stuck on a tough email or want to organize a fun (distanced) night out with your friends, here are my favorite ways to dance it out. 

• Dance Church is not an organized religion, but it is a movement experience with 10,000+ disciples. You could even make it your newest Sunday or Wednesday ritual.

Freestyle: Channel your inner Steve Aoki (who’s been rocking the quarantine hairstyle since day one) and DJ your own Zoom dance party. Use JQBX to listen to music in sync with your friends, then use these Spotify playlists for your set list: 

• “Middle School BANGERZ”—middle school dance vibes minus the awkward slow dance
• Nostalgia for '90s kids
• “TikTok Hits”—warning: These songs will get stuck in your head. 

P.E: I’m assuming most of you are not Instagram fitness influencers, so here are some tricks for staying active throughout the workday. 

• Avoid TikTok-scrolling your way to carpal tunnel with these healthy hacks. Apparently I shouldn’t be writing this newsletter from my couch, snuggled up in my heated blanket (best quarantine purchase, btw). 
• Download Stand Up!, an app that reminds you to take breaks and stand up from your computer. 
• Looking for a new party trick? Learn how to determine your dominant eye and create that 10/10 computer setup.  

Home Ec: Okay, truthfully I never took Home Ec, but if I were forced to teach it, these would be at the top of my curriculum.

• If you’re the type of person who struggles to a) fold a burrito and 2) put on a duvet cover, try the burrito method to solve both of those problems.
• When was the last time you actually cleaned your dishwasher? Like, the dishwasher itself? Thought so. Here are all the other spots you usually forget to clean. 
• Today is the last day of Wayfair’s biggest sale of the year, Way Day.

What to cook: Last night, I almost ate an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food while watching Florence Pugh and Jeni Britton Bauer (founder of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams) make maple rum ice cream. Repeat after me. 

Of course, ice cream-making isn’t just for the pros. Here are some tips for homemade ’scream.

• Try using a Mason jar if you don’t have a ~fancy~ ice cream maker. 
• Enjoy my favorite one-step, no-churn coffee ice cream. 
• Or take the healthier route and go for nice cream. 

Netflix recs for every mood: 

• If you’re ready for an emotional roller coaster: Watch Away. It’s like a toned-down version of This is Us, but set in space. 
• If you’re looking for couture, cursing, and comedy: Watch The Duchess. It’s really weird, but I’m into it and her insane wardrobe.
• If you’re in the mood to procrasti-bake: Watch The Great British Baking Show, which returns tomorrow.
• If you want to stay relevant: Watch Schitt’s Creek, which last Sunday set a record for the most Emmy wins in a single season by a comedy.
• If you’re already counting down the days until Christmas: Watch Love, Guaranteed. This rom-com is just like a Hallmark movie—I could go cook dinner, come back, and not miss anything.

A couple years ago, I ventured to Stockholm, Sweden, the wonderful land of oat milk and ABBA. One of their daily rituals is fika, a break in the day that involves coffee and a sweet treat, often a kanelbulle (a Swedish cinnamon bun that is pure sugar heaven).
