Last night was the third and final debate for the 2020 presidential election, and as predicted Covid-19 was one of the hottest topics. The two candidates, President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, each tried to convince Americans that they would handle the pandemic better than the other. Trump said he was confident that the U.S. is “rounding the turn” in the pandemic, and that cases would begin to decline. He also said that he anticipated a vaccine before the end of the year. Meanwhile Biden had harsh words for the president, whom he blamed for letting the case count in America get out of control. After President Trump said that his administration’s approach to the virus had been a success, former Vice President Biden responded: ““If this is a success, what does a failure look like?”

Weekly job losses have slightly recovered, but are still much more common than in pre-pandemic times. 

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a press conference today that she has “come to terms” with the White House about a second round of stimulus checks, but it still remains to be seen if legislation will get passed before the election.
