Trump Megadonor’s Silver Lining | World Reacts To Election Result | Making The Most Of Unexpected Publicity

Good morning.

With
Joe Biden projected to become the 46th president of the United States of America, we look at the priorities and challenges for his administrations. We also take a look at the dubious science of signature matching verification and at how the Four Seasons Total Landscaping isn’t letting its unexpected moment in the spotlight go to waste.

The Center for Presidential Transition, a nonpartisan board designed to aid a smooth transition between administrations, is calling on Trump to “immediately begin the post-election transition process.”

Some world leaders have yet to congratulate Biden on his projected victory—among them, Russia’s Vladimir Putin. In the business world, America’s top corporate executives are welcoming a return to predictability, as are some of the country’s billionaires.

Kamala Harris became the first woman, and woman of color, to be elected on a U.S. presidential ticket, and California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) reportedly wants the successor to her Senate seat to also be a history-making choice.

As Harris’ ancestral
village in India celebrated her projected victory, and the Irish prime minister invited Joe Biden “back home,” the tiny Italian village where Jill Biden’s grandfather was born also celebrated their ties to the new White House.

One thing that remains unresolved in the election is the tug of war
between the House and Senate over a new stimulus package—here’s why you shouldn’t bank on a big economic stimulus during Congress’ “lame duck” session.

In a move that many people will have missed due to the election,
Trump suddenly sacked the chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which regulates natural gas, oil, hydropower and electricity, and approves interstate energy pipelines.

Thirty-one states have
signature matching requirements to verify absentee ballots. The pseudoscience of graphology, the analysis of handwriting, has largely been discredited over the past three decades, but keeps playing a central role in verifying voting.

After the office parking lot of the Philadelphia-based
Four Seasons Total Landscaping became the unwitting backdrop to a Trump team press conference over the weekend, the family business is making the most of it, dropping a limited-edition branded apparel brand.
