Forbes - What To Know About Pfizer’s Vaccine

People are still talking about Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine success from yesterday-- though some are more skeptical than others. As President Trump continues to falsely take credit for the company’s success, Spain has already ordered 20 million doses of the vaccine to arrive in early 2021. Not to fear, however: HHS Secretary Alex Azar said today that he thinks that there will be enough doses of a Covid-19 vaccine for all Americans by next spring. There are still some significant hurdles to the release of the vaccine, however. As senior healthcare contributor Judy Stone points out, no peer-reviewed data from the Pfizer trials has been released yet. The FDA still has to review and authorize the vaccine as well. And not all Covid-19 vaccines are finding success -- Brazil recently suspended a trial of a Covid-19 vaccine developed in China after reporting an unspecified “serious adverse event.”
