Alibaba reported record sales for its Singles' Day, the world’s largest online shopping event.

Billionaire Elon Musk has hit one milestone in the billionaire space race, creating a commercial spacecraft system trusted to send humans to and from the International Space Station.

Goldman Sachs
released a 39-page report outlining the firm’s outlook on everything from stocks and the economy to the Georgia Senate runoffs and monetary policy. These are some of the highlights.

Add
two more fintech unicorns to the list of 2021 expected IPOs: AvidXchange, a company that lets businesses pay their bills online, and Flywire, a startup that helps organizations receive digital payments in foreign currencies.

Canadian startup
Cybin Inc. plans to bring to market a dissolvable oral strip dosed with the psychedelic compound found in “magic mushrooms,” to help treat major depressive disorder. Its stock jumped 23% during the first two days of trading on Toronto’s NEO Exchange.

Face masks protection works both ways. The CDC has published new research showing that wearing a mask reduces the emission of virus-laden droplets and also reduces the inhalation of the droplets by the person wearing the mask.

Not all
business class experiences are created equal. While the Covid-19 pandemic has spurred airlines into adding benefits for booking economy tickets, some carriers are also experimenting with creating new categories of business class.

A Botswana mine has once again produced a record-size diamond—the 998-carat diamond, the second 500-plus carat diamond recovered from the mine this year, could be the fourth largest gem quality diamond ever discovered. In more record-breaking diamond news, this 14.83 carat pink diamond fetched more than $26.6 million at Sotheby’s.
